Le belle bandiere

The work is the result of a participatory work: in the context of the extemporaneous painting, in the reinterpretation of contemporary madornali, the first step was to bring together the citizens and choose together the photo to start from. A collective product, which underlines the awareness of a community and its political value. Then the watercolour was made in the street and the comparison continued. The work portrays a woman who has just discovered her dead children from their shroud. She cries, devastated, for this endless tragedy. When we hear about the number of boys and girls who died in Gaza, we must think about how many mothers, if still alive, will be destroyed by this pain.

The Stabat Mater is in the eyes of those mothers. We cannot witness a genocide and not take a stand. Because if we do not see the eyes of God in the eyes of those mothers, we will never see God.
